Cornerstone Youth Mexico- Day 7

Hi everyone!
We have had such a great time in Mexico!  It's been a really awesome trip and we're sad that it's already over tomorrow. :(
To start out the day most of our team got up a five thirty to climb a fairly high mountain not too far from here, called Twin Peaks.  It an exhausting climb, but rewarding in the end.  The view was awesome!  It reminded me of how big a God we serve.
When we got back to Brenda's about three hours later, we had breakfast and then headed off to the city of Empalme, a suburb of Guymuas, with Juan Carlos to pray for the city.  It's so amazing to see Juan Carlos's passion for God and how he is so eager to reach the lost.  Juan explained how drug addictions and abuse were a huge problem in the city.  We were there to break the strongholds of the enemy and to take Empalme for Jesus.  First the whole team prayed together with Juan Carlos and after we split into three group and each took an area of the city to walk through while praying.
Lunch was back at Brenda's at two pm and afterwards we had some relaxing time to nap or rest from our exhausting climb in the morning.
Around 4 Juan Carlos took us to Guymuas to had out tracts and bottles of coke to anyone we met on the streets.  One van stopped at one major intersection and the rest of us stopped at another one near a bus stop.  John N. and Juan opened the coke bottles and we ran all over handing out the drink with Spanish tracts.  We climbed in the stopped buses or ran across the street to vehicles waiting at a red light.  It was so much fun!  Juan told us to say "Jesus te ama" (Jesus loves you) before we gave them the tracts and if they hesitated to say "gratis" which means "free" in Spanish.  The people there were very receptive.  In total we handed out 840 cokes and lots of tracts.  After all everything was handed out, we prayed together for the people who received the tracts.
For supper we had delicious taco soup and quesadias at Brenda's and after that team time on the roof of the house at the base.
It was an amazing day.  We really saw God work through us and hope that many more people were touched than what we knew.  Now it's pack up and get some sleep for the drive tomorrow.
Thanks for praying for us.
