Also check out the signup sheet to help with the food for that evening.

• Christmas is coming soon and so tis the season for the Christmas Cheer Board. We're starting early this year and ask for your contribution of non-perishable food items to help those that could use some food to fill their cupboards. Just a challenge, be creative, and drop something off you would really enjoy eating at Christmas, maybe even beyond Kraft Dinner, and that’s okay too. Mid-December is our dead-line. Thanks for your contribution.

• Teen Challenge Christmas Tree: Pick a gift tag off of the tree to buy the gift on the back of the gift tag for the men at teen challenge. By mid December we would like to see all the gift tags off of the tree and the boxes at the back of the church filled with these gifts.

• We have a wonderful children’s movie that has gone missing. We have the case but no DVD inside. Please search at home for this missing DVD, “Really Woolly, The Gift of Christmas”. Thanks.

•  New DVD in the church Library: Christmas With a Capital C –putting Christ back in Christmas. Starring Ted McKinley (Happy Days), Brad Stine, Nancy Stafford & Daniel Baldwin.

Congratulations to Landon & Heather Friesen on the birth of their son, Jarren Shayne born November 22 @ 10:55 a.m., 10 lbs.  23 ¼ inches long.   Congratulations also to grandparents Phil & Karen Friesen.

• New In The Library - just when you think you have read every book on the shelves, we get more! New books are being donated almost every week. Recently these were added: The Captain's Bride by Lisa Bergren, Lion of Babylon by Davis Bunn, The Ultimate Gift by Jim Stovall, One Call Away by Brenda Warner, Look Great & Feel Great by Joyce Meyer, Life is Tough But God Is Faithful by Sheila Walsh, and many more. New books are usually featured on the shelf so they are easy to notice and find, come and have a look. Thank you to those who are donating books-what a blessing for everyone!

News & Events:

Inner City Youth Alive is celebrating Christmas again by throwing a party for our North End community on Thursday, December 22, 2011. The 400 – 500 people we usually host come from challenging social and economic conditions, with over half being children. We have been called to work among the poor and bring hope to their world. Our dilemma every year is making sure we have enough food for everyone and a present for every child. If you would like to get involved with this please see poster on the bulletin board.

Work Skills Coordinator, Full-time. Inner City Youth Alive is hiring a full-time Work Skills Coordinator. This individual will possess skills in the trades such as renovation, carpentry and flooring in order to provide hands-on job training for young adults in the North End, and will desire to mentor them in their daily life.
