Tammie Head - A Relationship of Delight, April 26th & 27th

Tammie Head - A Relationship of Delight, April 26th & 27th

Tammie Head:
It has been over a decade now since Tammie first met the Lord but one reality has remained: She is still so in love with her Savior all these years later. Being rescued from a trashcan of life, Tammie lives to tell of her wonderful Jesus. He can redeem any life. And the beauty is that He wants to! Sharing the Word with anyone who will listen, Tammie’s utmost passion is for others to find the One who has captivated her own soul.

Tammie joyfully teaches a Women’s Sunday school class at Houston’s First
Baptist Church. Women are drawn to her openness, honesty, passion, grace and tenderness, but most of all, her love for the Lord. Through practical Biblical insight, she teaches the Word of God in an understandable and
relevant way. She will inspire you,
challenge you, and even dare you to seek after God with everything you have.*

-         Parental Decision: During our service next Sunday March 3, we will be talking about abortion, including a personal testimony by Tasha Deschambault. The pastors and elders recommend that parents may not want their children below youth or junior youth ages to hear this presentation, so there will be a special children's church during that service that parents may send their children to. See Pastor Dave or any elder if you have questions.

·         New Members Class: Sunday March 3 at 1:00 - 2:30 pm Pastor Dave will lead a class for anyone considering becoming a member of Cornerstone, or anyone wanting to learn more about membership (no obligation to become a member). ·         New Cornerstone Website: Pastor Scott has been building a new website for our church. It's still under construction, with some features not yet complete, but please check it out and use it (e.g. audio recordings of messages) and let the pastors and elders know what you think. It's at www.CornerstoneMinistries.ca

·         There are new books again in the library, lots of adult fiction for those who are looking for something new, as well as youth fiction. All the new books can be found on the desk, help yourself

·         Elder Meetings Summary: A summary of the January elder meetings is available on the back table (or ask Pastor Dave for more copies).

·         Brochures with information about a tour to Israel hosted by Phil Wagler are on the table at the back of the sanctuary.

Annual Membership Meeting, March 4, 2013 @ 7:00 p.m.

There are four Cornerstone members who have been nominated and agreed to let their name stand for election March 4 for three positions on our Elder Board: Fred Hein, Richard Klassen, Jer Pauls and Vern Reimer.

Please uphold each candidate as you prayerfully consider each one.

Annual Report Booklets are ready for every Cornerstone attendee. Please read through your copy before our annual meeting on Monday March 4 @ 7 pm, and please consider prayerfully the Project Suggestions and Elder Recommendations for our surplus so that we will be ready to come to a consensus at the meeting.

Proposed Cornerstone Constitutional Changes: At our annual meeting on March 4, the elders will recommend that the membership approve the following change to Article VII (3) in order to allow electronic banking transactions by the treasurer:

Article VII – Finances

3. The treasure is entrusted with the ministries funds and is to make all disbursements. All monies received by him or her shall be deposited in the name of the church in a financial institution approved by the board of elders. The treasurer shall prepare a monthly list of all disbursements for approval by the board of elders. Disbursements may be made by cheque or by electronic banking only. Cheques require the signature of the treasurer or any member of the board of elders designated to have signing authority.

This would replace the current wording below:

The treasurer is entrusted with the ministries’ funds and is to make all disbursements. All Moines received by him or her shall be deposited in the name of the organization in a bank approved by the board of elders, and no disbursements shall be made except by cheque. No payment shall be made without the approval of the board of elders. Cheques shall require two signatures, one to be that of a member of the board of elders, the other to be that of the Treasurer.
