Hey Everyone,
So today was a pretty amazing day. The day started off like usual, all three groups split up and did their own ministry groups. The only problem was Daena was sick and had to stay home. Group 1 once again taught English in the morning. Today the English class was especially full, there was around 19 students for the 9 teachers. The room was really small and was especially tight. I had to teach a spanish student that barely knew any English; he didn't know the Alphabet and couldn't even count to 20. Group 2 spent the morning at the construction site once again. Group 2 has been making amazing time in transporting from location to location. This morning they made it from Tarrytown to Rockaway beach in an hour and seventeen minutes which is actually quite a miracle. Group 3 was a little bit scattered today, couple members of our group joined group 2 for construction and a couple helped the English class cause they were short because of Daena being sick. The rest of us handed out flyers for the English classes. The only real advertising Urban Impact gets to do is when we go around from business to business handing out flyers and signing people up. Its been really neat to see how Urban Impact is influencing the area through something as simple as teaching English.
This afternoon was a much different afternoon. Pastor Boto gave us a tour of both the Sikh Temple and a Hindu Temple were we learned they have 330,000,000 idols. Pastor Boto did an amazing job of explaining what these cultures believe and developing in us a heart for those who don't know Him. He basically started preaching to our group in both of the Temples but did it in a way that was very unoffensive to those who were at the Temple. After we finished the tour of the Hindu Temple we finished off with a session of praise and worship singing "How Great is our God". It was really cool to see how bold Pastor Boto is in his faith and isn't scared to share and praise the Lord no matter where he is.
We had the evening off today. We had some excellent discussion on the days events and addressed any questions that people had. After that we had some praise and worship and after we had a foot washing ceremony where we spent time praying for everyone in the group. It was an amazing time to encourage one another in the struggles that we are going through.
Its been an amazing trip so far and please continue to pray for us. We are battling a lot of sickness in our group. A lot of people have sore throats and even had to make a trip to the hospital for Nikki cause she was having trouble breathing. It's all good now but we were pretty nervous last night.
Thanks for your prayers,
Scott, Gerco

Day #4
Today we woke up to a wonderful morning, and Froot Loops. We took off around 7:30 and traveled to our destinations in time. We have decided to break up the day by the groups we were divided into.
Group 1 (Andy, Clar, Kendra, Nicole, Jordan C, Gerco, Emery, Daena)
Morning started with ESL, English second language classes and we were divided into groups of boys and girls to teach English to many different people from many different cultures, from Bangladesh to Tibet and Thailand we had students from all. We braked for lunch and went for Tibetan food, we had a kind of meat or vegetable filled dumpling along with some fried beef and some bread thing. We were going to order 6 momos, but through the language barrier, the guy thought that we ordered 6 plates of momo, so we wound up with around 48 momos. After lunch we prepared for an after school kid's club which usually had games, snacks and some bible teachings. We spent hours preparing and acted out the story of david and goliath, the kids loved it and we could really connect with the kids by playing games. After a pizza supper we were informed at the soulth asian community center that group 3 would not make it for the evening english class and that we would have to teach it. So we taught english again and were able to encourage the people in the classes to stick with it and keep learning. half of our group took one van back to terrytown and four of us had to wait at the center for the other van. We got home safely and are pumped for tomorrow. Hi mom- Emery
Group 2 (Seth, Jeremy, Justin, Rachel, Anthony, Jordyn, Patrick, Nikki)
Our day started off with our group heading down to Rockaway Beach were we continued to do reno's at the beach house. We've been painting, moldering, putting in a window, and putting in trimming. We worked until lunch time so we headed off the the Spanish restaurant to grab something to eat. We had a little bit of spare time so we walked down to the beach. A couple of us (Nikki, Patrick and Justin) decided to go for a dip in the freezing water. After that we headed down to the African Friendship center were we taught African Muslims English. It was a blast. Then we headed back to Tarrytown. We had a very fun day. We've been driving all over the place covering long distances and we have been blessed with great traffic conditions and lots of green lights. Thanks for your prayers. Justin
Group 3 (Scott, Joy, Nick, Hilary, Aly, Sydney, Sandra)
We had a really busy day today, we started off doing some evangelism in a park. We spent most of the time cleaning and picking up garbage looking for people to talk to. Unfortunately today we were placed in a park where there we basically no people. We then spent some time in prayer and worship with Pastor Boto. We had lunch at a Mexican resteraunt which we all enjoyed. We then started our trek out upstate where we spent the afternoon and evening cleaning/organizing a couples house. We all couldn't believe much stuff was in the house and how badly it needed organizing. After we were done Pastor Boto shared the gospel with the lady and her kids and then we spent some time in prayer with them. We finally made it back to the ministry center at 9:30 when we finally had a chance to eat supper. Probably the highlight of the day was spending time with Pastor Boto because he constantly is breaking out in prayer or song. We spent a good chunk of our time upstate and back worshiping. Turns out Pastor Boto is a pretty good guitar player. Over all that, it was a very good day, and were looking forward to more adventures with Pastor Boto.

Day #3
Hi everybody!
Just wanted to let you all know we made it through our third day in New York!
Yesterday, we went to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. The message by Jim Cymbala was incredible. It was good for us to experience being the minority amongst so many different people and cultures. The church itself was beautiful and big! Over 3000 people could be seated at once, and it was full of incredible moldings and pictures.
After church, by miracle, we were able to seat all 24 of us at a nearby restaurant with only a 5 minute wait, even though there was a huge line-up. And, we were out of there in an hour, exactly in time to meet Larry and Emily at the South Asian Community Center for our orientation.
On Monday, we split into our three team helping with a variety of things: cleaning the park, handing out flyers and tracks, construction, prayer walks, and teaching English to adults of many different cultures. Many team members found teaching English to be a great experience. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to explain words like interesting, poor, should, high heels, and snoring!
All in all, we've met so many people from ALL over the world and are ecstatic for the days to come.
The youth group from Jacksonville, Florida loved the entertainment from team one; they heard one of the best arrangements of "O Canada".
Great job team two for working so fast and efficiently at construction!
Team three enjoyed meeting Pastor Boto, an East Indian pastor from a local church. He really encouraged them to share Jesus with everyone they met.
Thumbs up to Sydney who stepped out of her comfort zone and endured a loud "discussion" with three Muslim men; she declared her choice to the nations! Props, also, to all others who jumped out of their comfort zones so they could be used by Christ.
Continue to pray for healthy people. Lots of sore throats.
Us in Christ.
Jordan and Nicole

NYC Updade #1
Hey y'all! =) (Nice accent, eh?)
We have arrived in New York City and are currently at the Darrell and Julia Reimer home in Tarrytown.
We had a smooth and safe trip to Fargo and from Fargo to Minneapolis (by plane) and from there to New York (by plane, also). We crossed into the US without any troubles and made record time. Praise the Lord!
The two 12 passenger vans that Joy and Seth are rippin' around with, are very nice, actually. They are doing a fantastic job of getting us from place to place.
Believe it or not, after devos and worship, we spent the morning 20 miles from the city-centre -- in a bush! The Rockefeller preserve (walking AND horse park) was beautiful and HUGE.
It's almost 1:00pm (our time) and we are about to head to the Brooklyn Tabernacle for church. (They are famous for their choir!) After the 3 o'clock service, we will find a place to have supper and then head to Urban Impact (the organization we are working with) for orientation.
Thanks for your prayers!
Isaiah 41:10
So do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Love Nicole and Clar
